Opening with The Vision‘s blissful original, with its warm percussion and string-drenched interludes, ‘Down’ highlights the soul and funk leaning side of The Vision’s sound.
Snatch! label boss Riva Starr delivers his house roller of a mix next, taking a more dancefloor-focussed approach with filtered bass wobbles and irresistible loops, while maintaining the vitality of ‘Down’ that makes it special.
Closing out the release is 45 Queen Natasha Diggs, who delivers a hazy, deeply groovy version of the record, richly instrumented with long, expressive keys and rhythmic percussion. This is yet another exquisite package from The Vision camp begging to be heard on the dancefloor.
