London-born and Sydney-based, Clio is the disco diva alter ego of recording artist Danielle Bellas. September 8 will see Clio release the Dr Packer Remix of her feel good disco infused party anthem “We Got Music”. After a number of releases, working with the likes of Jud Mahoney (Michael Jackson, Brandy), Rishi Rich (Jay Sean, Britney Spears) and Jon Reichardt (Bliss & Eso, Hilltop Hoods), Bellas wanted to move towards a new sound. “I was drawn to disco music from a young age – the sound, the culture, the freedom of expression. A moment of synchronicity at a Glitterbox event in Sydney lit a fire in me to evolve, experiment and challenge everything I knew artistically.”
Clio’s debut single ‘Deeper in My Love’, included a remix by disco powerhouse Dr Packer and was released in June 2022 to rave reviews from DJs and industry insiders in Australia, the UK and Ibiza. It hit the Top 20 Aria Club Chart and climbed to #9 in the UK Music Week Upfront Club Chart.
After the success of “Deeper in My Love”, Dr Packer has once again come on board to remix Clio’s follow up single, making it even more funky and feel good. The remix has already been going down well in Europe, with Dr Packer giving audiences a sneak peek on his recent tour.
Describing “We Got Music” Clio smiles – “This single has a classic disco sound celebrating the power of music and is about coming together and dancing through the hard times, letting the music carry you away to a better place.”
