The duo of Oliver Lee and James Carter, aka Snakehips share their new single ‘Bringing Me Home’, featuring UK-born, LA-based vocalist LAUREL.
Following the release of their debut album never worry and recent single ‘Dancing With A Ghost ft. Au/Ra’, Snakehips unveil ‘Bringing Me Home’, a track that came together with LA-based LAUREL. An energetic, synth-driven musician, LAUREL burst onto the scene in 2014 and has since gone on to collaborate with the likes of Chrome Sparks, and feature on Flume’s critically acclaimed album Palaces with ‘I Can’t Tell’.
Sonically, the track flirts between dance music and big-room pop, sinking its hooks deep with soulful vocals and a hypnotic bassline.
Of the release, Snakehips share “‘Bringing Me Home’ is a tune we made over the summer in Los Angeles. It’s based around this really epic sounding chord progression that we then chopped up for the drop. Laurels voice had such a powerful, emotive quality to it & really brought the whole song alive. It’s a kind of uplifting but reflective song for the club.”
