Playing it out at Space Ibiza that summer, the reaction to the record was huge, selling over one million physical copies and reaching #1 on the UK singles chart. Put Your Hands Up For Detroit – based around a little-known sample from legendary DJ/Producer and Ghostly International head Matthew Dear became an instant club classic.

Fast Forward to 2024: As Cr2 Records celebrates it’s 20th anniversary Mark Brown reaches out to multi-platinum selling producer Matt Sassari and Matthew Dear with an idea: to rework Hands Up For Detroit fresh for the labels second decade. With Matthew giving his blessing for the use of the original sample, Matt & Matthew got to work on a kickin’ new version that whether you’re in Detroit, Ibiza, Berlin or London Hands Up For Detroit is bound to raise the roof and become a global phenomenon once again.
