The two-time BRIT Award winner Becky Hill today shares highly anticipated drum ‘n’ bass track ‘Disconnect’. Produced by legendary drum ’n’ bass trailblazers Chase & Status, Becky’s status in the scene is indisputable. Having teamed up with Wilkinson to deliver one of the genre’s biggest ever tracks ‘Afterglow’ and reuniting with him for last year’s ‘Here For You’, Becky also digs deep into her knowledge and love of the genre on her podcast The Art of Rave, which includes interviews with DJ Zinc, Roni Size and Fabio & Grooverider.
‘Disconnect’ captures everything that fans love about Becky Hill. From the outset her powerhouse vocals exudes star quality and attitude, before the track ignites into a drum ‘n’ bass future anthem. Becky’s topline provides the kind of festival-filling rush that has defined previous hits such as ‘Afterglow’, ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ (with Oliver Heldens) and ‘Remember’ (with David Guetta). ‘Disconnect’ is already living up to that heady billing after unforgettable pre-release performances during Becky’s sets at Glastonbury, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Parklife and TRNSMT festival. The track comes as Becky continues to build towards the eagerly anticipated release of her second album next year.
Becky says, “A decade on from ‘Afterglow’ and I honestly didn’t think that I’d be able to do it again, but I have never been more excited about a drum ‘n’ bass tune like I am about ‘Disconnect’. It’s a true dance floor record that tows the line between the rave and the radio, and to be working with the likes of Chase & Status, who I have dreamed of working with since I was a teenager, is a real moment for me. It’s been going off at festivals over the last few months and I can’t wait for everyone to have it for themselves. I’m so proud of this one.”
Alongside the Chase & Status production, ‘Disconnect’ was written by Becky with her long-standing collaborator Karen Poole (‘Remember’, ‘HISTORY’) and the rising drum ‘n’ bass artist Emily Makis (‘High Note’ with K Motionz, ‘Elemental’ with Freaks & Geeks).
‘Disconnect’ follows her current hit ‘Side Effects’, which peaked at #29 on the Australian airplay charts. It elevated Becky over the landmark of a billion UK streams, an achievement which was honoured with a Brit Billion Award by the BPI. Her phenomenal domestic success contributes to a global tally in excess of 7 billion streams as a lead artist.
Becky’s upcoming live shows will provide plenty of opportunities to take ‘Disconnect’ to huge audiences this summer. Her headline show at Custom House Square in Belfast sold-out months in advance, and her festival dates include Leeds, Creamfields North, Reading and a headline set at Weekender Jersey. Her YOU / ME / US residency continues at Ibiza Rocks throughout the summer and will be followed by North American headline shows in Los Angeles (August 10th), Boston (October 5th) and New York (October 6th). She is also one of the initial names confirmed for the KISS Haunted House Party alongside Flo and Jax Jones.
With an irrefutable aptitude for writing chart-smashing pop songs and a reputation as a leading force in the electronic music scene, Becky Hill has gone from strength-to-strength since first coming to attention as the voice of Wilkinson’s ‘Afterglow’. She has constantly released hits including ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ with Oliver Heldens, ‘Wish You Well’ with Sigala, ‘Remember’ with David Guetta and ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’ with David Guetta and Ella Henderson. She has collaborated with a who’s who of global talent, with other big names such as Joel Corry, Galantis, Sigala, MK, Jonas Blue and Tiesto.
