Mike Dunn – Rock Ya Body (Deepa) [Nu Groove Records]

An artist who needs no introduction, Mike Dunn returns to the legendary NYC label Nu Groove with three originals that bring together disparate influences from the master’s encyclopaedic knowledge of genre and style. What results are productions that are at once timeless, a quality that can only be achieved through the lived experiences of a four-decade career. The title track ‘Rock Ya Body (Deepa)’ is an effortlessly cool deliverance of pure, unadulterated house, with a pounding four-on-the-floor kick.

beatsbyhand featuring Kali Mija – King Of My Castle [Stay True Sounds]

Hot on the heels of his well-received interpretation of Crystal Waters ‘Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)’, the talented producer beatsbyhand returns with another memorable house record, offering listeners a deep, soulful flip of ‘King Of My Castle’, featuring Botswanan vocalist Kali Mija front and centre. Released on Kid Fonque’s Stay True Sounds, the label continues to present the very best of the genre, from original productions to reimagining the classics destined for dancefloors.

Sorley – Let It Shine [DFTD]

Sorley returns to DFTD with a cohesive three-track EP, ‘Let It Shine’, building on the North East producer’s recognisable club-oriented aesthetic. His previous DFTD release, the heavily coveted ‘Deadeye’, secured the prime time ‘Friday Fire’ feature from BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Danny Howard. Debuting on Riva Starr’s Snatch! imprint with his chart topping ‘She Freeks’ EP, before releasing more through Danny Howard’s imprint Nothing Else Matters. The next outing for the producer and DJ is a rubbery, bass-led club release featuring heavy vocal manipulation decorated with squelchy synth lines.

Sam Divine & Scott Garcia – Closer Than Close [DVINE Sounds]

Eight years since its inception, Sam Divine has relaunched DVINE Sounds to the world with a slew of vibrant releases, quickly establishing the independent label as one that is constantly evolving. This time the label head herself collaborates with a true pioneer of UK garage, Scott Garcia, whose influential releases shaped the garage scene, helping the genre become more than just ‘A London Thing’. Fans of the genre will recognise the unmistakable sound of ‘Closer Than Close’, a staple of the UKG scene originally released by former Prince collaborator Rosie Gaines. This divine re-imagining synthesises the inextricably linked worlds of house and garage, allowing for an energetic, up-tempo release with an infectious bassline.

Alan Dixon & Will Tramp – Sunday Stomper [Glitterbox]

Love Attack Records owner Alan Dixon joins forces with Homoelectric resident Will Tramp for the gospel house Glitterbox release ‘Sunday Stomper’. Dixon’s usual synth-led sound makes way for a piano-driven hi-octane vibe, fusing with Tramp’s disco sensibilities for ‘Sunday Stomper’, a high energy floor filler featuring euphoric, sermon-like vocals.

Urban Blues Project present Michael Procter – Deliver Me (DJ Meme Classic Reboot) [Soulfuric]

Rebooting a classic from ’95, one of Rio De Janiero’s most prolific and commercially successful artists releases on renowned house label Soulfuric once more.
