Opening with ear-worm synth lines, sultry samples and unforgiving bass, ‘Lemonade‘ is two and a half minutes of infectious dance electronica. Friendless‘ warped vocals and hilarious lyricism playfully fuse with thudding percussion to create a feel-good dance-hit.
Friendless talks about the inspiration behind ‘Lemonade‘: “Look I’m not going to try and intellectualise this. With ‘Lemonade’ I wanted to do something that was shamelessly fun and absurd that just makes people smile and want to have fun. It’s what I need right now and I’m sure a lot of people feel the same. I’ll let you in on a little secret: IT’S NOT ABOUT MAKING LEMONADE AT ALL.”
Having previous releases strongly supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, triple j, Spotify, tastemaker blogs, community radio and triple j Unearthed (who selected him as one of the winners of their NIDA video clip competition last year), sets up yet another banger for this artist on a proper roll!
