As the 30 years of Vicious celebrations continue to roll out, we now welcome Australian disco maestro Sgt Slick, who has sunk his formidable production teeth into Avicii’s 2011 club hit ‘Street Dancer’.
The original was heavily influenced by Break Machine’s 1983 breakdance hit ‘Street Dance’ and utilised the whistle melody from that landmark 80’s track. Here Slick retains that hook and adds his own contemporary disco production. A super funky bassline, chunky phat beats and 80’s influenced key stabs all lead us into the breakdown where we first hear the previously mentioned Break Machine melody. Then the remix drops with a massive string line over its groove fuelled bed and we’re off into 5 minutes of modern disco house, perfect for 2022’s funkier floors!
Sgt Slick has been releasing music with Vicious for over two decades and we are stoked to have him here on remix duties for this Avicii classic.
