Defected September Sampler

Another bumper month of Tunes from the Defected camp, we now have the latest September Sampler featuring tunes from Classic Music Company , Soulfuric & Glitterbox!

Honey Dijon – Not About You (KDA Remix) [Classic]

After delivering two stunning singles from her forthcoming LP ‘Black Girl Magic’, Honey Dijon continues to be a magnet for the most forward-thinking and innovative artists in dance music, as she unveils remixes of her latest cuts on ‘Beyond’. KiNK & KEi deliver their captivating remix of ‘La Femme Fantastique featuring Josh Caffe, as the two Bulgarian artists enlist gradual builds, otherworldly synths and a bubbling bass sure to encourage dancefloor escapism with compelling effect. Up next, ‘Not About You’ featuring emerging Atlanta talent Hadiya George, which came as the debut single from the LP, gets a rework as enigmatic London talent KDA delivers his ‘Legacy’ Remix, giving the glossy house cut an industrial, club-ready sound with a harder bassline, offsetting the tougher elements with glorious piano chords. This killer package is destined to excite selectors of the highest order, with these expertly crafted mixes bringing a new dimension to two already stellar cuts.

Antenna! – Rhombus (Seamus Haji Re-Edit) [Soulfuric Deep]
Andrea Bertolini debuts his new alias Antenna! on Soulfuric Deep with ‘Algoritmo’, a three track package destined for the dancefloor. A synth addicted craftsman of sound, over the last decade Andrea has committed himself to producing authentic, grooving cuts for imprints such as Platform Rec. and Stereoseven. Now using this new alias to echo inspirations such as Chicken Lips, Loose Joints and The Emperor Machine, this driving triptych of tracks show Andrea at his electronic, funk-fuelled, 80s inspired finest, seamlessly fusing old school sounds with new school methods for this trio of heavy hitters. Also featuring a Re-Edit from Big Love label boss Seamus Haji on closing track ‘Rhombus’, Seamus brings his disco-boogie infused style to the package with a DJ friendly mix.

Quentin Harris & Jason Walker – Stronger (Mattei & Omich Remix) [Glitterbox Recordings]
New York house legend Quentin Harris made his Glitterbox Recordings debut with the joyous ‘Stronger’ earlier this summer, with vocals from regular collaborator Jason Walker. Originally released in 2016 on Def Mix Music, now Glitterbox enlist Mattei & Omich and Alan Dixon to remix this soulful and uplifting disco-house jam on a brand-new package. Up first, Italian duo Mattei & Omich provide an array of mixes perfect for all djing needs, including their high-energy remix, atmospheric Organ Mix and more club-friendly dub. Up next, Alan Dixon provides both a remix and dub, gloriously rounded with deep organ chords and funk-filled percussion, stripping back the vocal on the dub to let the expertly crafted instrumentals really shine.
