Beloved British production duo Groove Armada land on DFTD, showcasing their club proficiency with the two-track Free Jam EP.
A household name in their native UK and global clubland, the pairing of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay are known for their off-the-wall production style that transcends defined dance music genres. Electronic experimentation has been combined with major mainstream success, topping the charts globally with breakout hits whilst also retaining major credibility in niche circles, and gaining massive underground cred for 90s sets on the free rave circuit, including their own eclectic party and festival ‘Lovebox’ and the since closed-down NYC party Twilo.
Having never missed a summer in Ibiza, Groove Armada return in 2024 for Defected’s Ushuaïa and Glitterbox’s Hï Ibiza, with forthcoming festival appearances at Forbidden Fruit, Love Saves The Day, Eastern Electrics and more.
DFTD’s Free Jam EP showcases the best of this extensive club experience; the title track is a love letter to deep house, featuring delicious, soulful vocals from prolific dance vocalist Kathy Brown that meld with the duo’s unique percussive choices. ‘New Kind Of Drama’ delivers another dose of expertly curated club music, bringing the heat with bold squelchy synths and in-your-face Slata John vocals moulded into raw, unfiltered carnival bliss.
